Moxso raises $5.5M in funding

Moxso raises $5.5M to bring adaptive, AI-powered security awareness to global markets

Moxso, the Danish cybersecurity company turning human behavior into real-time risk intelligence, today announced a $5.5M seed funding round to fuel global expansion.

The raise follows a breakthrough year where Moxso was selected to Google’s Growth Academy for Cybersecurity, quadrupled headcount, tripled revenue to double-digit millions. The round was led by Seed Capital, with participation from Ugly Duckling Ventures and D2 Fund.

AI is changing the game

Cyberattacks are increasingly personalized. AI makes it easier than ever for attackers to target individuals, bypass defenses, and exploit the human layer. Yet most awareness programs still train employees the same way, regardless of risk.

Cybersecurity training has long been static-generic templates, infrequent modules, and little to no measurement of impact. Moxso’s platform replaces that with a real-time model:

  • Analyzes behavior to turn every human action into live intelligence.

  • Builds evolving risk profiles that adapt as employee behavior shifts.

  • Delivers targeted interventions only where risk actually exists.

“Companies don’t need more security training. They need systems that adapt as quickly as attackers do,” said Rune Boye Knudsen, CEO of Moxso.

“This investment gives us the resources to accelerate development and expand across Europe. The demand is clear: organizations want measurable, automated resilience, not another compliance checkbox.”

Backing from leading investors

Seed Capital’s investment marks its first step into cybersecurity as part of a new strategy to back the next generation of Danish tech leaders.

“Moxso is tackling one of the hardest problems in cybersecurity, and we’re backing them as our first investment under Seed Capital’s new cybersecurity focus because they have both the ambition and the technology to become a global category leader,” said General Partner Geeta Schmidt at Seed Capital.

As part of the round, Geeta Schmidt, former CEO of Humio and one of Denmark’s most successful cybersecurity entrepreneurs, is joining Moxso as a board member. Humio was acquired by CrowdStrike in 2021 in one of Denmark’s largest cybersecurity exits.

Looking ahead

With this funding, Moxso will:

  • Accelerate product innovation in AI-driven risk intelligence

  • Expand into new European markets

  • Grow its team across engineering, product, and go-to-market

Founded in 2021, Moxso is already trusted by organizations across sectors who want to stay ahead of phishing, social engineering, and insider threats.

“Every attack starts with a human decision. Moxso ensures those decisions tilt the odds back in the company’s favor” added Rune Boye Knudsen.
